maybe i’m not a good citizen, but yes, i hate bahasa indonesia.
it was begun when i had my engineering economy exam today (this post is written on March 27th 2009). this subject is just one from reasons why i love my civil-engineering-life. i have a great lecturer in that class. the best i think.
in that class, he always give us some exercises in English. he took those from a textbook, that haven’t been translated in Bahasa Indonesia. i really enjoy the book. and i definitely think that English is the best languange when we talk about science.
so, i studied it with an English textbook (even his slides are in English!) and understand the problems in English.
then, in my exam room, i found out that the question is ALL in Bahasa Indonesia. suddenly, my brain was freezing for a while. i read that paper for the first 15 minutes, and try to answer all those question DOUBTFULLY. huahahahahha
okay, here is the thing:
i realize that i’m not good enough in English, but i think when you read the same textbook, you better buy the English one. sometimes, some English word can not be translated perfectly in Bahasa Indonesia.
for example:
what is ‘engineering’ means in Bahasa Indonesia? it can be translated to ‘teknik’ and ‘rekayasa’. it just definitely two different words with different mean.
and i have some text book, some of them has been translated. and honestly, i’ve met some difficulties to understand all those Bahasa Indonesia words. heu.
but, it doesn’t mean i really hate Bahasa Indonesia.
i speak Bahasa Indonesia with my friends. and i’ve just realize that Bahasa Indonesia is easy to learn. thereis no grammar, right? you don’t have to change the verb into V2 or something like that. see?
but there’s something…
“kadang lebih menyentuh untuk mengatakan sesuatu dalam Bahasa Inggris” =)
